Your Practical Driving Test

Tom HolmesBefore you take your Practical Driving Test you will have to take a theory test and I can assist you with your preparation for this. The test is in 2 parts:

1. A Multiple Choice Test - This consists of 50 questions - you will need to score 44 or more to pass!

2. Hazard Perception Test - You will be shown a number of video clips in which you have to identify potential hazards and developing hazards by using a computer mouse.

You will need to pass both parts to gain your Pass Certificate!

Once you have gained your Theory Test Pass Certificate you can then focus on preparing for your driving test. The test itself is very straightforward and you will pass it if you can show your examiner that you can drive safely, complete the set exercises and demonstrate that you have a thorough knowledge of the Highway Code.

The test lasts for about 40 minutes and, apart from general driving, will include an eyesight test and two questions about safety checks on the vehicle. You will be asked to demonstrate two of the following driving skills;

  1. Reversing around a corner.
  2. Turn in the road.
  3. Parallel Parking.
  4. Bay Parking.

I will prepare you for the test by conducting a "Mock Test"
