Pass Plus Driving Lessons - Dover, Folkestone & Hythe
What is Pass Plus?
I am a Pass Plus Qualified Female Driving Instructor covering Dover, Folkestone & Hythe. Pass Plus is a training scheme for new drivers. It's aim is to improve your driving skills and make you a safer driver. It can also lead to insurance discounts.
Pass Plus consists of a minimum of six hours training with the emphasis on developing your practical driving skills. There is no test at the end. Instead you will be assessed throughout. You must cover all the modules to complete the course.
Module 1 - Town Driving.
Multi-lane junctions, unusual roundabouts, cycle and taxi lanes. you will be concentrating on observation, judgement and awareness. Being cautious but not over cautious!
Module 2 - All Weather Driving.
Covers driving in the Rain, Sleet, Snow, Ice, Mist, Fog and Bright Sunshine. You will be looking at the causes of skidding, the prevention of skids and braking on poor surfaces.
Module 3 - Out of Town Driving & Rural Roads.
You will be looking at making progress safely. Dealing with bends, hills, uneven roads, slow moving vehicles, livestock and wild animals. Mud on the road and the use of passing places.
Module 4 - Night Driving.
You will be looking at the importance of headlights and adjusting to the dark. Judging speed and distance. Anticipation and awareness of pedestrians, cyclists and parking.
Module 5 - Dual Carriageways.
You will be dealing with judgement, joining and leaving dual carriageways, use of slip roads. Effective observation - use of all mirrors and blind spots. Scanning and planning!
Module 6 - Motorways.
You will be dealing with overtaking and lane discipline. Courtesy to other road users. Motorway fatigue. Joining and leaving motorways. Effective observations. Signs signals and markings.
When the syllabus has been successfully completed the Training Report Form is sent off to the DSA for your Pass Plus Certificate of Completion to be issued.
